Porter Lunch Bowl Container

I love the look of this bowl, but the seal around the lid comes off often and is difficult to put back on. I ended up trying to super glue the seal on to the lid, getting super glue everywhere, and throwing the bowl away.

This container looks great but as others have noted, the lid is terrible. The gasket slips off constantly and is frustrating to put back on.

I bought 4 of them. I like it that the bowl has a layer of silicone sleeve so it doesn't burn hands coming out of microwave.

There are a few design flaws:

id has one of those water tight 'air valve' to even out pressure; many of the much cheaper microwavable containers from Korea/Japan include those valves for easy opening.
This wrapped one of my lid, due to higher pressure in ambient air.

2. When trying to pry open the lid (not easy when there's air pressure differential between inside and outside), the silicon gasket comes off too. Even though it's dishwasher safe, the gaskets sometimes slip off in dishwasher too. The hard plastic rim needs a small "lip" to hold the silicon gasket in. It peels off too frequently with use.

3. The plastic discolors easily with Turmeric. Turmeric has oil soluble, not water soluble pigments, which stains the lids. I love the color and size of this bowl, but the silicone closure around the lid has come off and the bowl no longer seals correctly. I've only been using this for about a month, a couple of days a week, and have been handwashing it, so it's not like it's gone through a lot of wear-and-tear. Save your money.
