The summer blues are real.
They start to creep in around the first of August, though we've seen cases start as early as July 5. The summer is fading away, we'll say. There are so many things we haven't gotten to, vacations we wanted to take, books we wanted to read lazily in the sunshine. I've only had one cob of corn, and it wasn't even that great.
Snap out of it, folks. There's still a month of beach days, long nights, grilled meals, and page-turners to be had. Have you been to the farmers market lately? There are crates upon crates of blueberries to be eaten. Blueberries for breakfast, blueberry pie for dinner: Those are the doctor's orders. You'll be cured of the blues in no time.
