For our Provisions shop, we search for the best and most beautiful things for our kitchen and home.
Today: We're taking you behind the scenes as we discover, source, and photograph our favorite products -- read on for the highlights of today's lighting and party collection.
Already, the sun is setting before 5 PM in New York. Soon we’ll be hosting (and attending) holiday parties. We’ll experience the feeling of bursting in from a dark, cold street into a warm, brightly lit house. There will be bowls of punch, the smell of spices and sugar mingling in the kitchen, and sauces bubbling away on the stovetop.
We were so inspired by our latest Provisions photo shoot that we wanted to share our five favorite images -- and why we'll be recreating them at home this season.
We've always loved updating classics with a twist (like adding pumpkin to this apple galette). We found these hanging block lights with vintage-style Edison bulbs at the Brooklyn Flea market -- they're made by two artists in New York who marry old and new design in every piece.
We love these porcelain tea lights because they embody our philosophy that small details matter, whether it's a delicate candle or a good salad dressing.
For decking the halls, we like to find decorations with an unusual edge -- like these dew drop lights strung on copper wire and this industrial-style copper candle holder. Pro tip: Don't forget to make plenty of spiced rum punch for the occasion.
Two essentials for a holiday dinner: Candles along the table and red wine. We'll be replicating this moody tablescape with bayberry tapers and a bottle of Grenache.
What are your holiday party essentials? Champagne? Mistletoe? Tell us in the comments!
