A glimpse into our editors' lives: Here's how the world looks from where we stand behind pizza towels, in shops, and beyond.
The John Varvatos store on the Bowery, which I have never been in prior to this weekend, was previously CBGB—famed music club where superstars like David Byrne, Patti Smith, Blondie, and the Ramones got their start as a riotous crowd of deviants in the East Village. The current tenant has preserved tons of the venue's original ephemera—from graffiti on the toilets to posters all over the walls—in an almost museum-like effort to keep the spirit of the place alive. It's amazing. —Amanda S.
I was working from LA for a friend's baby shower, also checking out their hand pie scene (this one was pluot—the illegitimate child of plum and apricot, per my barista—and cream, and very good). —Kristen
Professor Figgins is ready for the holidays. —Lindsay-Jean
