Just a question. My meringue cookie ice cream sandwiches were originally posted to this article and are not here anymore. Was there a problem with my post? Just wondering because it's such a great feeling to see your work recognized.

If I close my eyes and concentrate, I can almost taste the canneles. A sticky sweet burnt carmelized exterior with a dense, moist and soft sweet cake. YUM. I wanna make some.

My local library doesn't have a copy of Baking Chez Mois, which is concerning on more levels than one, the main being that our library system is clearly failing (Leslie Knope would not be surprised).

Loved the Magic Pan, La Fondue, La Bonne Soup and George's Rey and all the restaurants that served my first crepes, chicken corden bleu and chocolate fondues and icebox cakes from the 80's which started me on the road of enjoying french food. All simple, but they all felt so fancy at the time.

Baking has been my passion since the age of seventeen. I fell in love with it just weeks after working at a bakery as a cashier. I would spend time in the back with our bakers (a French baker, Italian baker, German Jewish baker, and a Russian baker) watching them work their magic and turn out their countries specialties. It was a love story that has so far lasted 45 years. I don't bake professionally but my family enjoys my goods.

I'm always telling people to go with their gut when baking, even if it means improvising a little in a pinch....you may not get exactly what you expected, but it's not always bad. Cannéle in a rose pan?! So cool! Who wants to spend an arm and a leg on genuine cannéle molds anyway?
