Asparagus, At Last

April 25, 2012

We've been waiting for this moment.

We've watched the days get lighter, felt the sun get warmer. We've been going to the farmers' market, eagerly grabbing (and gobbling) those hallmarks of spring: ramps, artichokes, and now, asparagus!

I came home yesterday to find a lug (20 lbs) of farm fresh asparagus waiting for me to devour it on my front porch! I couldn't be more happy! Love local asparagus!

Couldn't identify more with this. Have literally been waiting all winter for 'gus to come back. Let's all breathe a collective sigh.
