Oven baked peas

I had this in an Italian restaurant and they had a great roasted flavor but were still fresh pea looking...any ideas?

Were they sugar snaps, snow peas, or shelled peas? Either way, peas are so tender that they would only need a very brief sojourn in the oven at a fairly high temp--maybe 400 degrees for 5 minutes.
