From the photo it looks like the "mango pulp" is pureed before adding to the cream, is this correct?

That is correct. If you have sweet mangoes, I will definitely go for it but I made this recipe multiple times - With good and the sour Mangoes and the canned pulp. This time, I bought the mangoes in Indian stores and I was happy. If you cannot buy the smaller and juicier ones, you can buy the Pulp that you get in cans! I never went wrong with the Pulp, honestly!
