A question about a recipe: Roasted Rhubarb and Strawberries

I have a question about the ingredient "maple syrup" on the recipe "Roasted Rhubarb and Strawberries" from Ladystiles. I dont have maple syrup, do you have a different ingredient for this?

You could use honey or brown sugar mixed with a little water. It won't have the maple flavor, but I think it would still be good.
