Looking for a simple recipe for pork steaks. My mother used to make it all the time and I think she used sage.

I just learned of pork steak from my butcher. This is really old school, but really yummy. His recipe is sprinkle with Lawry's seasoned salt, and poultry seasoning. Pan fry like a steak with half butter, half oil. I was skeptical, and also didn't have seasoned salt or poultry seasoning in my pantry. Finally caved in, and I'm so glad I did.

Pamela, sage (in my opinion) is one of the best options when it comes to pork steaks. Sage is a go-to ingredient for my dad when he makes them and they are fantastic. You can keep it simple and just go with salt and pepper to enjoy the natural flavors, or you can look to something a little dicier.

You could start with Merrill's recipe for pork cutlets and adapt it to your tastes from there:
