my wild blueberry cobbler's pastry sort of disappeared during baking. it was a bit wet--is this why?

Maybe - but have you cut it open yet? My favorite cobbler recipe has "wet" dough that sinks during baking. It is definitely still there (and really wonderful) but not visible from the top.
