Best vegan African peanut stew/soup recipe?

I'm looking to make a vegan African peanut stew with yams. Just wondering if anyone has a great recipe or suggestions as to what type of bread or side to serve with it?

This vegan yam/peanut soup has become a standard in my kitchen, from the Rebar cookbook (a restaurant in Victoria, BC): http://www.food.com/recipe...

I thought Merrill had posted one after her honeymoon, but could not find it.

Lots of good ideas! There's also this recipe from this site that though it is not officially an African stew, it is vegan and does seem to skew towards the flavor profile you're looking for and it's delicious: http://food52.com/recipes...

My peanut stew recipe is vegan if you use vegan peanut butter. It calls for squash, but you could easily substitute yams: http://food52.com/recipes...
