Would these be seasoned like a new cast iron or carbon steel pan?

Yes, these pans need seasoning.

I was wondering the same thing, I figured that since it's scrubbed with that brush maybe it is not seasoned the same way cast iron is. Will be interested to see the answer. I love those pans.
