How do I make cakes
Lindsay-Jean is a Contributing Writer & Editor at Food52.
There are hundreds of great cake recipes here that walk you through how to make them. http://food52.com/recipes...
If you narrow down what kind of cake you want (chocolate? Bundt? etc), you can make the search a little shorter. Look on the 'recipes' link. On the left side of the page, you can make choices for your search.
If you're a TRUE novice, start with a cake mix. Seriously. Most cake mixes have to have eggs and liquid added to them, so you'll get practice mixing, and you'll also get practice preparing the pans.If you're ready to make cakes from scratch but are unsure about things like stacking and frosting, do a plain Bundt or pound cake (or a Bundt pound cake!). It takes a whie to get good at making cake so set your bar at what you think can handle and bake away!

Well played. You deserve a cookie.
Not a fan of caramelized onions? Don't use them. Want some green? Add creamed kale.
