How does one figure out the proper amount of ingredients for different baked goods when creating their own recipes?

Baking is so precise! I'm trying to create my own recipes for cakes, cookies, brownies, etc. I've found some basic information about bakers percentage and the true percentage, but nothing on actually HOW to create your own recipe-as in how much of a specific ingredient one would need. Can someone suggest good resources for me?
