Substitute for rice vinegar?

Hi! I am preparing a marinade for bbq chicken...the recipe calls for 1/4 cup of rice vinegar, 2 tbsp of BBQ sauce and 2 cloves of garlic. I am out of rice vinegar...what can I substiitue for it? (After marinating it calls for a sprinkling of onion powder, paprika and cayenne pepper)...Thanks!!!!

White wine, apple cider or champagne vinegar would work. Maybe cut the amount down because rice wine vinegar is so light. Lemon juice or even balsamic would work as well, but cut the amount of them as well.

Maybe try regular white vinegar and add a tsp of sugar (dissolved).
