Help! I made blueberry preserves using the water bath method, but I forgot to put the lid on my pot while the jars were processing. Is that bad?

Is this unsafe or will my preserves be fine?

As long as the water was boiling and covered the jars by the specified amount, there's nothing to worry about.  Water boils at the same temperature, lid or no lid.
