Should I sear a 4 lb pork loin before roasting it?

Jeffrey Zakarian roasted a pork loin on The Kitchen this morning. He seared it very well including the ends. Pork loins are so lean now that I never buy them, but his his had a lovely layer of fat.

I would. Its a great habit to get into. I sear any roast, chicken, pork, beef prior to roasting in the oven.
