Can I substitute an alternative flour say almond meal or coconut flour and if so how much?

Almond meal (not flour) would be a good sub. Coconut flour absorbs way too much liquid.

Do you mean instead of the breadcrumbs? Is it gluten that you are trying to avoid? You could use a gluten free bread crumb if thats the case. I once subbed barley flour for breadcrumbs in a chicken loaf and it was ok but a bit gummy a different texture.

Afraid I haven't tried a substitution like this. Hopefully someone else with experience will weigh in!
