My dad used to put the turkey in the bathtub (in its bag) with cold water to thaw quickly. It was always a surprising site to see!

i head one of the women manning (? ha!) the butterball phone lines and i think between soaking in sinkfull of cold water and putting in when frozen or slightly so, you can successfully cook it. but the important thing is to make sure you have a good instant read thermometer and bring it up to full cooked temp. good luck. and if all else fails (one year my brother brought frozen turkey to me two hours before it was to have gone in the oven thawed), if when you carve it, the joints are still pink, microwave it to bring up to cooked temp.
