I'm making a @doriegreenspan soup recipe that calls for 2 points star anise. Is that 2 whole stars or 2 points of 1 star?

Agreed. Two points of one star. It's a pretty strong flavor.

I would take that to mean 2 points of 1 star. Seems like 2 whole stars would be a huge amount for a soup.
