I agree that biscuits, focaccia or any rustic bread are good mates. I also like popovers with soup - served with lots of good butter. They always seem sort of special and are relatively light, so a nice counterpoint to a big beany soup.
I was going to say foccacia, as AJ did.
Other ideas:
1) garlic croutons,
2) slivers of pancakes (the kind eaten with the first part of Peking duck), and the soup spiked with some sesame oil & hoi sin sauce
3) egg noodles, feta, cabbage and/or sauerkraut
If you don't have time to cook another bread a baguette toasted in the oven with a little olive oil and flaky salt and whatever seeds or herbs you have on hand like sesame seeds, paprika, etc. I would also make some sort of a fresh, chopped salad with tomato, onion, avocado, parsley, cilantro or whatever you have to work with.
Biscuits! Preferably with an herb or two that go well with the soup. Or, my latest favorite soup accompaniment -- we eat a lot of soup in the cold months here -- focaccia squares split and toasted, with cultured butter. (Freeze extra focaccia, cut into squares, for this purpose.) ;o)
