Just a quick Google search showed that brass has a relatively low melting point relative to other metals. But since we don't know the actual temperature of the broiler in a given spot as it is heating (in reality it could reach a high temp above and beyond the 500º shown on the dial) why take a chance? Do you have a cookie sheet?
It won't melt, but it can discolor at relatively low temperatures; I wouldn't risk it.
