If i halved a pasta sauce recipe, do i cook it for half the time in the oven?

You could try half oven time and see if the tomatoes were jammy enough and, if not, cook a bit longer.
OTOH, if you have enough ingredients, make a full batch, use half now for whatever you're planning and save the other half in fridge (about a week) or freezer (about 2 months).
