I haven't multiplied this one, but yes other cake recipes.
The 9x13 pan has about 15 cups volume compared to 8 cups for the 8x8 square.
To stay with your 1.5x find a pan with 12 cup capacity (9" spring form or two regular 9" round baking pans).
Or to stay with the 9x13 rectangle, double the recipe and if you have a little too much batter, bake it in a cup.
