Baking soda chickpeas

Can u add baking soda to speed up the cooking time for chickpeas. Just like u can do with kidnet beans?

Baking soda makes chickpeas soften more easily, so while they might cook slightly faster, they also might break down and get mushy. If you want to speed up the cooking time, I'd soak them overnight, then boil them.
