Short answer: most sources DO NOT recommend table salt to replace kosher salt, but IF YOU MUST, use about half by volume (so 1/3 cup).
Background. Kosher salt - like sea salt and pickling salt - doesn't have additives that are in table salt. It also weighs less...about 1/2 or 2/3 of table salt.
