Need a little help

How long should I beat the egg yolks? I want to do half with the alcohol and half without for the kids. Has anyone tried it without the alcohol?

You generally beat the egg yolks until they are a lighter yellow, then gradually add sugar (and other ingr.) while beating. I have made eggnog without alcohol, not from this recipe, without trouble, but this seems awfully rich. You might seek another recipe-there are billions of them, for such a simple creation- at the least you should replace the liquid you're leaving out, perhaps with milk, but the alcohol would help cut through some of the very high fat content of this recipe.
