Sorry, you want the recipe. Here's one from a bit earlier (1960s). Have a look...was it like this? If not, please tell us differences. https://clickamericana.com/topics/food-drink/jell-o-crown-jewel-window-glass-dessert-recipes-1960s
Carol Marie - this was a favorite in my growing-up family and various of us now continue to make it, even if it is retro. I've made it the original way (with Jell-O and something like Cool Whip or Dream Whip) and from scratch (fruit juices, gelatin, real whipped cream). The second tastes better, the first more nostalgic. Have a go, and please tell us how it turns out.
Hmm- couldn't get the link to work and inquiring minds must know- to cube jello, do you make it in ice cube trays or make a big batch and cut it into cubes?
Smaug...link work when I posted it overnight. If it doesn't work just enter something like "jell-o crown jewel dessert" in your search engine and you'll get half a dozen recipes to chooses from. I make the jello in three shallow cake pans and cut in (small) cubes after chilling and setting. You could use ice cube trays, and then cut the gelatin cubes in half of quarters.
