Mary, Flo Braker's angel food cake is the gold standard. I'm attaching an article about her and it, which also includes her recipe.

P.S. I was one of the women who participated in the experiment with a group called the Baker's Dozen. When Flo asked how many people didn't bring their first cake, my hand shot straight up.
