Get smell out of silicon ice trays

I read discussion on this topic and found it interesting last post was awhile ago - I purchased trays in 2018 and have not got rid of the smell yet plus the same smell is transferred to the ice and the tase is awful. I am goin to give the cider vinigar and water wash a try, but if the smell does not go away - the trays will! Go to the trash!
