I have a recipe which calls for half fat creme fraîche. Is there a substitute?

Am making the baby potato salad from Diana Henry’s Simple. The recipe calls for a half fat creme fraîche. All I have on hand is full fat creme fraîche. Any suggestions for modifications or substitutions?

I was just researching a substitute for crème fraîche. It seems you can mix equal parts of sour cream and heavy cream to get something the could pass for it. I am using that mixture, since I have no access to crème fraîche.

PS: And my recipe that, like yours asked for half fat crème fraîche, was an Epicurious "Smoked Salmon Mousse."

I've never heard of half-fat crème fraîche in the U.S. I would use what you have and call it delicious.
