Fresh pork shouldn't smell much like anything- unless yours was vacuum packed. Then it can take on what's called a "confinement odor" sometimes, which should go away after it is rinsed and patted dry. Like Mrs. B said, if yours still smells funny then take it back to the shop and get a refund. And find a new source for your meat.

It shouldn't have a funky odour. It could be from the juices collecting in the paper, but that seems a bit odd if you just bought the meat.
Rinse it well; then pat it dry. If it still smells funny, take it back to the shop, hand the package to the manager saying that it smells off, and request a refund. Then buy your pork somewhere else.
