This recipe says cook for 40 minutes then after butter sauce cook another 25, is this correct?

A wild thought.
Make and take a deconstructed apple dessert (which might have better texture the second day than a pie that had to drive there). Part one: a very fine apple compote. Part two: baked goods (shortbread, tuile or some baked puff pastry). Part three: combine and serve.
Optional garnish (depending on freezer or mixer): ice creame or whipped cream.

Hi Patti! This handy article shows you how to freeze unbaked pies ahead of Thanksgiving, so all you have to do the day of is pull it out of the freezer and bake. Hope that helps! https://food52.com/blog...

My bad! I totally didn't catch the limited oven part - any chance you could bake them in the morning before heading out?
