I'm wondering if the glaze hardens or absorbs

This glaze is absolutely beautiful and I would love to try it on some cake donuts. Does it harden or does it absorb? Thank you!

As in the photo, it'll "sit" on top of the product. The only way I can see that it would absorb is if you got it far too thin, or the product was hot when you put the glaze on, melting it into the pastry.
