storing fresh made brats. Cook priror to freezing or just freeze?

I just got done making brats and was wondering what the recommendation is for storing them. I was told to slow cook them in a very low temp oven till 145 degrees, cool them under cold water, then let them stand on the counter for a cpl hrs before freezing them. Is this true or should I just freeze them?

freeze them uncooked.

I think you can do either one - if you cook them now you won't have to cook when you thaw them. But every time I've bought extra fresh brats, I just tossed in the freezer. Either way they'll take time to thaw.
