HELP! ASAP!!! IT LOOKS LIKE STREUSEL TOPPING!!!

Question

I just mixed the ingredients for this cookie, and what is in the bowl looks more like a streusel topping rather than a cookie dough.  Did yours?  What do I do?  I did accidentally switch the order of the sugar and the flour, but dont know if that would do this?  I dont know whether I should bake this, or do something with it, first?

Thank you for getting back to me! Yes that is what happened!!! It was just such an unusual method of making cookies (cream the butter, add sugar, then eggs, then flour) the method just threw me for a loop! I bet what you suggested Would have been terrific! As it is I decided to pack the crumbs together as best I could, pet them onto the cookie sheet. And what resulted with something like a Florentine cookie, or some thing very lacy. They still taste good!! Next time I will have to try it the right way! Thanks again!

If you switched the order of the flour and the sugars, essentially you've made a pâte sablée.  Press into baking pan, bake it, and cut into bars like shortbread.
