Candied nuts for topping pumpkin bread

I'd like to sprinkle the top of my pumpkin bread with candied pecans before baking (350 for an hr). Will the nuts/sugar burn during that baking time if they're not in the bread but just on top?

Hi! If you're starting with candied nuts, I would be worried about them burning by the time the bread is done. Another option: Add raw (or very lightly toasted) nuts on top of the batter, then sprinkle with granulated or raw sugar; it'll have a similar effect with a lower burning risk.
