Will using almond extract In cupcakes affect the texture? I want them to remain fluffy, but have lots of almond flavor.

I made rainbow cookie cupcakes yesterday using only almond extract. They tasted great, but the almond flavor was a little too subtle. I was thinking of trying again today using almond paste, but don’t want my batter to end up being too dense. Any thoughts?

Almond paste will make the cookies more dense. Add more extract or add almond flavoring in addition to the extract.
