Does adding more oil to brownies hurt them?

Hi, so I am making boxed brownies that calls for 1/3 cup of oil but I wanted to add 1 full cup. Will this be okay? I was going to substitute the water for oil but it would still be a bit more that the box asks for. It's "special" oil, so I want to use as much as possible lol. Thanks!

Yes, tripling the oil in a baked goods chemical equation (otherwise known as a recipe) will ruin the texture....that will make the brownies very loose, soft, oily and not holding together.

PS if you want the benefit of the remaining special oil, put it in other dishes like salad, soup or stew.
