Spring form pans leaking when making a cheesecake

I made my first cheesecake and I used tin foil to seal the bottom of the spring for pan
And it leaked water into the crust.
What did I do wrong?

Three things you might check the next time... 1.) use heavy-duty foil and get the widest roll you can... like 17-18", making sure you when you wrap the springform pan that you carefully form the foil, not allowing any big folds where water could run down inside. 2.) you don't want the water level too close to the top edge of the foil 3.) add a second piece of foil over the first. Best of luck!!
