Will this still taste good if I sub cornstarch for the flour?

My daughter can’t have flour. Can I use cornstarch to thicken or will the missing toasted flour ruin the flavor?

You don't want to toast cornstarch for a roux but it certainly can be used to thicken. Just don't use a whole cup. The flavor will be a little different but I think very good.
