Do you think this custard could be used to fill choux pastry?

I'm a little nervous to make the buns and steam them, since I've never done anything like that before. Was thinking of making cream puffs and filling with this custard though, if you think that would work.

Hi Alliebear! So this isn’t a custard in the more typical sense— it’s more like a buttercream when at room temp, that melts to a molten lava filling when steamed. If you want to make a salted egg yolk custard for choux, I’d make a traditional pastry cream and grate salted egg yolk into it to taste!
