Is it coriander or cumin seeds?

When you find a recipe with confusing ingredients or instructions, the first thing to do is to see if the recipe was posted elsewhere.

It took me fifteen seconds to find this recipe:

https://spicechronicles.com/tofu-roasted-red-bell-pepper-coconut-sauce-aka-passionate-tofu/

on the author's blog where the ginger amount is correctly listed. The original recipe also calls for 1 Tbs. of dried fenugreek leaves.

This type of online sleuthing is not specific to Food52 or even food recipes in general. It is applicable to pretty much any set of instructions posted online: auto repair, Linux system administration, arts & crafts, programming, whatever.

Best of luck.

As for the coriander-cumin conundrum, the tomato-coriander combination is the most commonplace.

Of course, should you feel like introducing cumin as well, you shouldn't feel handcuffed. Modifications of spices and herbs should be based on your personal taste and those who will be joining you at your dinner table.

Both recipe versions are riddled with errors so you'll have to use your best judgment if you wish to execute this particular recipe.

Again, good luck.
