What is the correct hazelnut quantity - 1 1/2 cups or 67 grams? I weighed the hazelnuts and 67 grams is half a cup.

I made the biscotti and they were delicious! I'm not sure if my hazelnuts were particularly dense/heavy, but 67g of hazelnuts for me was about half a cup (even taking into account the difference in cup size between Australia/US). I ended up using about a cup (140 grams or so), but which is the correct measurement?

I would not hesitate increasing the nut quantity to 1 cup (140 g).

I made biscotti last week and my flour-to-nut ratio was 1-to-0.8.

It appears that someone edited the recipe to show 1/2 cup - which looks about right, when you see in the picture how the chopped hazelnuts are scattered throughout the biscotti. I took a look at the recipe for a classic almond biscotti that I've been making for years. The nuts weight .7 of the flour called for - but those biscotti have many, many more almonds per cookie, just looking at the photo here.

Incidentally, these are in a cookbook published by this author, but the "look inside" feature on Amazon excludes that recipe. ;o)

Thanks Antonia! Next time I might use the full cup anyway - it does make them slightly more prone to breaking, but everyone loved the generous amount of hazelnuts (perhaps like your classic almond biscotti!)
