Half and half substitutes for baking

I’m making scones and the recipe calls for 1/2 cup half and half. I do not have half and half. I do have 2% milk, hazelnut coffee mate, and vanilla almond milk. Will any of these work??

Yes! Into it. Half and half is half whole milk, half cream. So, the sub you use has to be high(ish) in fat. Do you have butter?

You can make 1/4 cup of cream with 3 tablespoons 2% milk + 1 1/2 tablespoons butter. Mix with another 1/4 of 2% milk to make (slightly less rich) 1/2 cup half and half.
