Can you use Neufchâtel instead of full fat. Team cheese?

Would using Neufchâtel ruin the dish? My husband would like to substitute it to teducethe fat.

Hello! I think you can do this no problem since they are so close in texture. In fact, I made twice-baked potatoes once that called for neufchâtel specifically—they were great.

Sure, the potatoes will taste slightly different from what the recipe writer intended, but I bet they'll still make many, many rounds around the table!

Agree with Maurine's comment. Especially since cream cheese was developed in the USA at a Neufchatel factory as a variation on that cheese. :)
