You can make scones on a baking sheet (sheet pan) or various skillets (cast iron or carbon steel are very good for these). Size of scones varies, can be small, medium, large. Shape varies too - can be drop scones (irregular mounds, usually small to medium), rolled and cut out from flat dough (round, somewhere 2-3" diameter), rolled and cut out from flat dough (8 triangles from a large round).
