Collard greens partially frozen in fridge

I have whole leaf collard greens that I bought fresh, unwashed. They partially froze in the back of my fridge. They look fine besides that, only some browning on the leaf edges. Should I do a cool water bath to thaw & clean them? How should I cook them?

No matter what I'd wash them anyhow to remove sand/grit/dirt. I'd remove the ugliest bits first.

How I would cook them would depend on their condition. I've cooked them until they are completely dead (Southern style) and less so.

Generally speaking, soups/stews are a good destination for frost-damaged greens. This has been the case for millennia, not just the last few months on Instagram/Tik Tok.

Use your best judgment relative to those who will be joining you at your dinner table.

Thank you so much! That really helps. I’m going to add them to a roasted tomatillo stew.
