I'm late to this party but I'm so happy to see I'm not the only Hollandaise obsessed person looking for looking for an easier way to get their fix on the daily. I'm a momma with two small boys, doing a baine marie with all the wisking and the babysitting...when it's just for me to have on my cold dinner plate when I finally get to it. I was thinking about a tiny little bullet blender...but do I really need something else to store?? I like the idea of the immersion blender and Mason jar. I have a fairly decent KitchenAid immersion and never once thought to go that route. I love this website.
I agree with Gammy and Nancy on this—an immersion blender cuts down on the amount of gadgets cluttering your kitchen and has so many other uses like blending soups, puréeing vegetables, and more. We've got some great recs over here: https://food52.com/blog/26298-best-immersion-blenders-amazon
My immersion blender (aka stick blender) came with a glass jar that was slightly larger in diameter than the blender stick. Something like that might be the answer for a one-egg Hollandaise sauce.

So if yours didn’t come with a mixing jar, you could use one of them (pint size ir larger) as the mixing jar.
